Stewart Martin got his professional darkroom start 25 years ago in New York City, where he learned to make custom black and white edition prints for fine art photographers. Today he continues this tradition as an artist serving artists.
In his commercial black and white darkroom, Stewart makes exhibition-quality, custom prints. Photographers can order prints up to 20 x 24 inches. Negative sizes from 110 to 5x7 are welcome, celluloid or glass. Stewart makes all prints by hand. Every detail is attended to and all prints are processed to archival standards.
Stewart believes that custom black and white printing should be collaborative. At the start of a project, he consults with clients to find out how they will exhibit their work and welcomes clients into the darkroom to observe the printing process.
